Discover the luxury of silence and a most friendly welcome at the Blue Pool.

The water changes its colour minute to minute from shades of green to a beautiful turquoise - it's a truly fascinating phenomenon. Set like a jewel in a deep clay bowl with steps leading down to the water's edge, the Blue Pool is surrounded by 25 acres of heath, woodland and gorse interlaced with sandy paths that seem to take you to another world. It's an environment of national importance (we've been an SSSI since 1985) and home to many indigenous (and rare) species of plants and animals.

Children can hunt the model squirrels hidden in the trees (parents get involved too!), enjoy one of our three play areas and then explore the acres of hills and secret places inside the boundary. After that, treat yourself with a visit to the Teahouse then it's just a short step to the Blue Pool Museum, our two well stocked shops and the Plant Centre. A tranquil oasis within a hectic holiday schedule.
