Parcevall Hall Gardens

Nestling in a tranquil and picturesque setting that is steeped in history, Parcevall Hall Gardens are considered to be a fine example of the Arts & Crafts movement and are the only RHS and English Heritage registered gardens open to the public in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The gardens were laid out from 1927 onwards by the late Sir William Milner (1893-1960), a farsighted architect, horticulturalist and plantsman, who designed them to be totally in harmony with the surrounding landscape. After purchasing the derelict shell of, then restoring and developing Parcevall Hall as his home, he took full advantage of the geography to create a unique garden that provides year round interest unrivalled in the Yorkshire Dales.
