Behind the Massive Blast Doors the Vast Nuclear Bunker extends almost 100ft below ground and covers nearly 35,000sq ft - Our Award Winning fully guided tour visits 3 Operations Rooms - Engineering & Plant - COMCEN/Radio & Telephone Exchange - Dormitories & Offices - Situation & Briefing Rooms - Message Centre - Coding/Computer Rooms - Kitchen & Officers Mess - Canteen & Hospital - along with our WMD Gallery and many other areas, all brought to life with films/shows & demonstrations. Built in the 1950's as an Early Warning Radar Station - Refurbished in the 1980's as RAF Support Command War HQ - Rebuilt in the 1990's as an Experimental Electronic Warfare Centre - There is over 60 years of RAF History at Holmpton which is still today a working environment.
Please Note: Tours are fully guided lasting about 1hr 40mins. There are 3 staircases and some quite long walks. For disabled access information please call 01964 630342 Photography is welcome - The tour is not suitable for under 5's.
