Ryedale Folk Museum
Hutton-le-Hole
Explore the wide range of historic buildings rescued from around the area. They and their contents bring to life the lives of ordinary people from pre-historic times to the present day. Each of the easily accessed historic buildings on the 4 acre site shows a different aspect of rural life. From the 16th-century manor house, with its huge wooden cruck frames, to the humble 20th-century potting shed filled with 'useful' bits and pieces.
Outside there are medieval garths, cottage gardens, a farming area with animals and a cornfield with over 40 species of cornfield flowers. There's plenty of space for children to run around and explore, quiet comers for picnics and the dog can come too - on a lead please.
